Summary

 A GUI multithread application that can be used to "recover" various passwords on Win 95/98 machines. Includes - Screen Saver password decoder, - Cached resource recover, - OSR2/98 PWL password recover, - Local Shares quick modification and password recovery.

FREEWARE VERSION LIMITATION: - Screen Saver decoder will not recover passwords with some characters. - The remote shares attack works only with "Share-Level" shares. - Cached resources can't be removed or modified. - Win95 OSR1 PWL files are not supported. - Dictionary and Brute-Force Attack speed is limited intentionally. - After local shares modification you need to reboot the machine for changes take effect. - Threads priority can not be changed.

 Password Cracker: A tool to decrypt a password or password file. PestPatrol uses the term both for programs that take an algorithmic approach to cracking, as well as those that use brute force with a password cracking word list. Password crackers have legitimate uses by security administrators, who want to find weak passwords in order to change them and improve system security.

Sniffer:  A wiretap that eavesdrops on computer networks. The attacker must be between the sender and the receiver in order to sniff traffic. This is easy in corporations using shared media. Sniffers are frequently used as part of automated programs to sift information off the wire, such as clear-text passwords, and sometimes password hashes (to be cracked).

 Follow these steps to remove Cain from your machine. Begin by backing up your registry and your system, and/or setting a Restore Point, to prevent trouble if you make a mistake.

 Stop Running Processes:

Kill these running processes with Task Manager:



Unregister DLLs:

Unregister these DLLs with Regsvr32, then reboot:



Remove Files:

Remove these files (if present) with Windows Explorer:
