help me remove spyfalcon
« on: June 10, 2006, 02:10:33 pm »

I have a program called spyfalcon that i beleive my son picled up using internet explorer. I can"t get rid of it. Tried McAffee , spybot found it and says it is deleting. But it pops right back up. Adaware also can't remove it.
I ran a search and spyfalcon is in many, many locations in my computer. Help.

There are some very good sites out there for malware removal help. Here are a couple of them:
http://www.spywarewarrior.com/index.php
http://castlecops.com/

Be sure to read the stickies about how to post and what they need you to do first. They are also extremely busy and are run solely by volunteers, like this forum. You may not get an immediate response. In fact, both forums also have topics to report your topic for not being answered in a certain period of time set by each forum. Usually this is 72 hours. Please be patient with them.

They will tell you to download and install Ewido AntiMalware Suite (Win2K and XP only). Get a head start and do it now. It is a 14-day trial that only disable it's automatic features after that. You will also be asked to install HijackThis, but wait for them for this one. It can be dangerous if you use it improperly.

Hi- I have been 2 rounds with that crap. SpyFalcon was out in FEB 2006, and it already re-incarnated as SpyWare Quake by the same clowns. It is the same malware that is goading you to give your CC# for non-existent "syware prevention". To get rid of SyFalcon - GO TO www.removespyfalcon.com You will be guided through the process - You need to remove SpyFalcon and "dxmpp.dll" HOW? The process will have you download 2 tools - smitREM.exe and FixSF.reg BOTH need to be run as this stuff is insidious. You have to brute force it out of your registery (it's a Trojan). If you get SpyWare Quake - same site - bleepingcomputer.com and follow the steps. Tools = smitREM.exe, Roguesanfix (English Version) smitREM alone will NOT fix it. Follow the steps PRECISELY and it will work beautifully. AFTER you are done, run SpyBot Search and Destroy to make sure it's clean. If you know how to run HJT - do so. In the future, if you run IE, make sure you have IE Spyad installed. The worst sites for malware are music, games, adult.
