Map is not a territory.
The expression "map is not the territory" was first published in the report by Alfred Korzybski, when read at the meeting of American Mathematical Society.
* Quick may have structure similar to the structure or neshozhey territory. My  bookmarks.

Belgian surrealist Rene Magritte illustrated by the concept of "perception always stands between us and reality" in a series of paintings, including a well-known work called "Perfidy" images. Lewis Carroll in "Sylvie and Bruno" (1889) gives a humorous description of a fictitious map, which "scale mile to mile." The character in a work describes some of the practical difficulties in the use of such cards, and concludes that "we now use the country itself, as its own map, and I assure you they are equally good."
